The British Judo Association does not sanction competition judo for children under the age of 8 years.  Instead, in order to give our youngest players some experience of judo in a competitive environment, from time to time we arrange our own InterClub competitions with entry restricted to members of Hollesley Judo Club and other invited players.

The emphasis in these events is to provide an introduction to competitive judo in a familiar, friendly environment without concentrating too much on the winning and the losing.  They provide an opportunity for the children to learn about how judo contests are organised, to try and put some of their judo training into practice in a competitive situation, and to come away with a sense of achievement and a medal!
