judokaA person who practises judo.
 
kaiSociety or club.
 
kansetsuwazaTechniques involving locking limb joints, usually the elbow.
 
kata(literally "form") A stylised set of techniques used to develop the performer's posture, balance and appreciation of the various judo techniques.
 
kikengachiIn competition, a win awarded to a player when his opponent is unable to continue because of injury.
 
kokaThe lowest score in judo, with a value of 3 points.
 
kwaiSociety or club.
 
kyu(literally "student") A senior judo grade below Dan grade.
 
matte(literally "wait") Referee's instruction which temporarily halts the contest and brings both players back to the centre of the contest area.
 
monliterally (gate" or entry"): the name given to judo grades for junior players between the ages of 8 and 16 years.
